How to Get Started on Facebook

The first thing you have to do is create an account on Facebook  and crete a profile.

You can add a photo to your profile. Take advantage of it — on a social networking sites such as Facebook, a picture adds credibility by showing you’re a real person or business.
 

It doesn’t have to be a picture of you. You can choose to use a picture of one of your well-known products or what you like, depending on how you want to brand yourself on Facebook. If you provide a service you may prefer to include a picture of yourself for a more personal touch.

Once your account is set up on Facebook network, you need to create a Facebook Fan page for your business.
 

You can add all sorts of information to your Fan page, such as photos, videos, business info. Add as much useful information to this site as you can.

Now, all the updates you post on your Facebook Fan page will automatically get sent to Twitter too. In this way you get your message out through two both Facebook and Twitter at the same time.
When your Facebook Fan page is ready, you can start connecting with friends.
 

You can start by searching the names of your friends, family, and customers already on Facebook. Next step you can send send them an invitation to be your friend. Then you start checking  to find other people on Facebook by doing name searches or you are getting Facebook to search for people who you maybe have met before for exsample at your high school or college.
As you gain more friends on Facebook, you can send them all a friendly suggestion asking them to become a fan of your Facebook Fan page.
